Supporting the American Heart Association and the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired
Rochester, N.Y. – Helping to improve the human condition is a major component of ConServe's mission statement. Continental Service Group, Inc., d/b/a ConServe, brings this commitment to life each month through charitable donations from its employees as part of its Jeans For Charity philanthropy. Through the program, in which ConServe employees can elect to participate in monthly charitable donations in exchange for the option of wearing jeans to work, employees are provided with the opportunity to "give back" to their local communities by donating to a diverse group of organizations throughout the year. The organization's "Matching Gift Program" further supplements the team's generosity by matching the funds contributed by the employees. This regularly recurring philanthropy, started in 2008 as a way to support a wide range of community investment efforts, not only engages and inspires employees but also defines ConServe's outstanding corporate citizenship.
Sarah Favro, Foundation and Corporate Giving Manager at the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABVI), states "For over 100 years, the Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (ABVI) has been the place for people in Rochester and the Finger Lakes region to turn to when faced with a diagnosis of vision loss. Through the generous support of organizations like ConServe, ABVI's vision rehabilitation services help people, no matter if they have no vision at all or are just starting to lose their sight, to learn adaptive techniques and how to use adaptive devices to do the things they used to do when fully sighted."
