George Huyler, ConServe VP of HR & Previous Recipient, Serves on Selection Committee

Rochester, N.Y. - Recently, George Huyler, Vice President of Human Resources at Continental Service Group, Inc., d/b/a ConServe, proudly served as a contributing member of the National Human Resources Association (NHRA) – Rochester Affiliate selection committee to help determine the most qualified candidate for the 2016 Human Resources Executive of the Year Award. The award was created to recognize exceptional leaders in the Human Resources community who bring innovation, inspiration, and operational excellence to their organizations. The recipient of last year's award, George was joined by several other notable local Human Resources professionals to help determine the 2016 winners. The awards will be presented at a luncheon on April 28 at Monroe Golf Club http://bit.ly/1NDRv2P . For the first time, the award will recognize two local HR leaders.

The Rochester Affiliate of the NHRA nominated six honorees for the third annual HR Executive of the Year Awards.  This was the first year that nominees were separated into two categories, a small employer and a large employer, depending upon the number of employees in the nominees' organization.  The nominees for Executive of the Year for the Large Employer category this year included finalists Brayton Connard, SPHR, Director of Human Resources for Monroe County; Helen Halewski, Ph.D., Chief Human Resources Officer, Hillside Family of Agencies; and Alejandro Mendoza, Human Resources Manager of Optimax Systems, Inc.  The Small Employer category finalists included Janine Barry, Director, Human Resources, Monroe Plan for Medical Care; Sarah Fantauzzi, Vice President Human Resources, RES Exhibit Services; and David Mandrycky, SPHR, Director of Human Resources & Client HR Consultant, at Insero & Co. CPAs, LLP.

According to Huyler, "the selection was difficult - we had an exceptionally strong group of nominees from which to select this year's winners. It was a particularly challenging task considering the experience levels, talent, and contributions of all of the finalists."  Joining Huyler in this process were the other members of the selection committee: Jim Holahan, Esq, of Bond, Schoeneck and King, Jennifer Garigen of AP Professionals and President of the local NHRA Affiliate, Maureen Wolfe, Sr. Vice President, Human Resources and Community Relations, ESL Federal Credit Union, and the 2014 HR Executive of the Year winner, along with Dawn Schnell, Owner of E3 Resource Solutions, LLC   Chairing the 2016 NHRA HR Executive of the Year Award is Jennifer Steier, Director of Human Resources of Spectracom.
